Botox Treatment for Excessive Sweating (Hyperhidrosis Therapy)

There are men and women who suffer from excessive sweating, or hyperhidrosis everyday. While most people attempt deal with this condition using a variety of products, there are effective treatment options available.  Phoenix Regency Medical Aesthetics can help you end the embarrassment and discomfort of hyperhidrosis.

Hyperhidrosis occurs when the sympathetic nervous system, which controls sweating, operates at a more increased pace than normal. This results in excessive sweating to occur at inappropriate times in specific body areas. The most common areas for hyperhidrosis are hands, feet, armpits and groin. The cause of hyperhidrosis is unknown. Our clinics offer two treatments for hyperhidrosis.

Hyperhidrosis BOTOX Treatment

The first is BOTOX® Cosmetic injections into the underarms. BOTOX® Cosmetic is FDA-approved for the treatment of underarm hyperhidrosis. Injections block the chemical signals sent from the nerves to the underarm sweat glands, stopping excessive underarm sweating for up to six months. The glands are not plugged or stopped, they just cease to produce sweat.

What is the treatment like?

This treatment, approved by the FDA, involves about 15 small injections into the underarm area. It takes about 10 to 15 minutes to complete.

Hyperhidrosis SmartLipo Treatment

The second treatment option is SmartLipo™. The SmartLipo™ laser light inactivates the problem sweat glands, causing them to cease producing sweat permanently. Repeat procedures are unnecessary.

What is the treatment like?

Typically, SmartLipo uses a carefully calibrated laser to liquefy fat deposits through the top layers of the patient’s skin. When used to end hyperhidrosis, the laser is aimed at the overactive sweat glands, effectively deactivating them.
